Greg Thomas - General Manager

Greg began working with Sterland Computing in April 2003 bringing with him over 20 years experience in information technology (IT).

Greg began his career as a program analyst spending six years in development, design and project management. He quickly progressed into an IT Management position, gaining valuable insight and experience in small to medium enterprises. Greg then moved into a vendor environment with Progress Software allowing him to build a solid business development understanding, with a focus on the consulting and services field. A promotion to Services Manager Australia, then to Services Director Asia Pacific cemented Greg’s career and capabilities in this area.

Greg has a Masters Degree in Computing Science together with a number of professional business and technology qualifications.

Chris Johnston - Product Manager

With over 11 years experience working in the building supplies industry Chris joined Sterland Computing in January 2000. He brought with him experience in analysing business requirements and the design and application of software to meet specific business needs.

Chris’ extensive industry and product knowledge has been utilised through our support desk, training, consulting and in the design and development of the ProStix solution. As the Product Manager for Sterland Computing, Chris is responsible for approving the direction and quality of improvements within the ProStix suite.

Warren Castles - Services Delivery Manager 

Warren has been with Sterland Computing since July 1997 and has recently stepped into the role of Services Delivery Manager. Prior to that, Warren was a senior analyst responsible for services software development and co-leadership of the development team. Warren has been directly involved in software design, development and implementation for over 20 years.

He began his career in 1987 as a programmer and immediately began working with enterprise software solutions for distribution companies and membership organisations. Over the next 10 years - while developing his skills in all facets of the development life cycle, he also developed the technical skills required to deploy hardware and operating systems. Since joining Sterland Computing Warren has helped lead the development team in continually setting & reviewing standards, mentoring, managing the development life cycle, managing database standards & design and also assisting with technical support. He has worked closely with many of our customers over the past 10 years to analyse their business needs & translate them into effective solutions. 

David Morris - Development Manager

David has been with Sterland Computing since October 2006. He started with us as a senior analyst until his recent promotion to Development Manager. With over 15 years experience in IT, starting as an analyst programmer, David moved into a senior software engineering position and project management at QAD. Here he played a pivotal role in global development projects and David was instrumental in improving the development processes and advancing product quality without compromising project budgets.

Along with his role as project manager and looking after the research and development team in Australia, David completed his Masters in Business Administration - majoring in Information Technology. David’s experience expands to automotive, medical, electronics and industrial and consumer packaged goods in the manufacturing sector. This allows him to cater for industry specific requirements and various compliance regulations.

Bernie Pannell - Technical Manager

Bernie celebrated 10 years with Sterland Computing in 2007, having joined the company in June 1997. As our Technical Manager he looks after all technical aspects of integration of Sterland’s suite of products. Bernie works closely with our clients, their hardware vendors and networking support. In addition, Bernie also works with Sterland’s internal Product Development & Support teams, along with Progress Software - the development language and relational database product used to develop the ProStix suite. 

Bernie has worked in IT for almost 20 years and has accumulated a number of industry recognised certifications, including Progress, AIX, Citrix, Red Hat & Microsoft. He graduated in 2008 from Charles Sturt University with a Master of Networking & System Administration and an MCSE.
